  • The Camp David Accords: Jimmy Carter was instrumental to aid in the agreement between Israel and Egypt. The agreement brought an end to the war in the Middle East and helping to pave the way for some dialogue between Israel and some of the Arab states.
  • The 1977 Panama Canal Treaty: Jimmy Carter aided in the turning over of the strategic canal which is a major benefit to US policy towards Latin America.
