With eight wins from the first eight matches of 2021/22 French Ligue 1, the Paris Saint Germain’s perfect start of the season comes to an end at Roazhon Park.

The star-studded, Paris Saint Germain, on the lunchtime kickoff, dropped their first points as they humbly bowed to a determined Rennes side by two unanswered goals. The ‘billionaire club’ started their deadliest attack being Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, Neymar Jr and Angel Di Maria but they were rendered edentulous.

Rennes ended the first half victorious with a goal, Gaetan Laborde scored right at the end of the first half by converting a great Kamaldeen Sulemana cross. Rennes continued the victory dominance as Flavien Tait added a second goal just after the restart.

Achraf Hakimi’s challenge on Laborde earned Rennes a penalty but the Video Assistant Referees ruled it off to prevent Paris Saint Germain’s goal deficits from increasing. However, Rennes mastered to protect the two goals as they emerged victors.
